Caroline Guitar Company proudly presents the Kilobyte 2000, a forward-thinking evolution of the original Kilobyte™ delay from 2013—an effect that quickly became a “gateway drug to boutique” for many players due to its distinct and unmatched character.
While the Kilobyte 2000 retains the familiar, beautiful sound of its predecessor, it now boasts expanded features, incorporating special edition mods first introduced in the MEGABYTE release from 2020.
Enhanced features include:
Delay time of up to one full second
Trails bypass and tap tempo control for greater flexibility
Sharpness control to fine-tune the preamp’s gain range and voicing, from “bark” to “bite”
Havoc control to adjust the intensity of the runaway effect when engaged
External FX loop to process only the delay repeats or achieve a 100% wet signal for unique applications
Describing the Kilobyte as a “Lo-Fi Delay” has always been more than just a tagline. Caroline Guitar Company intentionally altered the dynamic range and frequency response to stand apart—not only from conventional digital delays but also from other devices utilizing the PT-2399 “karaoke echo” chip.
Rather than masking its character to mimic an analog delay or overly refining its sound, Caroline embraced its raw, unpolished nature. With a dedicated drive preamp for the wet signal, players can push the repeater circuit into beautifully chaotic clipping, creating a delay effect that is as bold and distinctive as the musicians who use it.
