The PRS Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition brings together two of John Mayer’s passions: guitars and classic Land Rover Defenders. Inspired by Mayer’s own vintage Arles Blue Defender, this special collection pairs the familiar feel, tone, and craftsmanship of the Silver Sky with four heritage-inspired finishes: Arles Blue, Willow Green, Portofino Red, and Sandglow Yellow.
Limited to only 500 guitars in each color and 2,000 instruments worldwide, the Defender Color Collection adds several distinctive touches that set it apart from a standard Silver Sky. Each guitar features a matching painted headstock, along with a unique neck plate engraved with the finish name and “1 of 500.” An ATA molded hardshell case with a custom “DEFENDER” badge completes the package.
At its core, this is still the Silver Sky developed by John Mayer and PRS, designed around the sound, feel, and response of the vintage instruments that inspired Mayer while incorporating PRS precision and craftsmanship. The Defender Limited Edition gives that proven design a unique visual identity tied directly to Mayer’s personal collection and the unmistakable colors of classic Land Rover Defenders.
