Fender has officially launched its highly anticipated American Ultra II family of electric guitars and basses, claiming it to be “the most advanced guitar series in the brand’s history.” This new lineup builds on the impressive legacy of the American Ultra and American Ultra Luxe collections, known for their cutting-edge engineering and craftsmanship.

What’s New in the American Ultra II?

The American Ultra II pushes the boundaries further than ever before, introducing “hyper-modern” electronics that blend Fender's traditional aesthetics with the innovation seen in brands like Charvel, EVH, and Jackson. This makes the Ultra II one of Fender's most significant releases this year, with renowned artists such as Isaiah Sharkey, John 5, and Joe Lally on board for the launch.

The lineup includes new editions of the Stratocaster, Stratocaster HSS, Telecaster, and Meteora guitars, as well as the P Bass, J Bass, and Meteora Bass models. 

Fastest-Playing Necks Yet

A standout feature of the American Ultra II models is the introduction of what Fender describes as “Fender’s fastest-playing necks.” These necks boast a modern “D” profile and a compound radius fingerboard (10”-14”) made from either ebony or quartersawn maple. With ultra-rolled edges and medium jumbo frets, they promise an unparalleled playing experience. For an added touch, glow-in-the-dark Luminlay side dots enhance visibility in low-light settings.

Comfort Meets Performance

Each American Ultra II model is designed with player comfort in mind. The neck heel features a shallow carve for easier upper fret access, while the bodies are expertly contoured for next-level playability.

Cutting-Edge Electronics

When it comes to tone, the upgraded Ultra II Noiseless Pickups deliver authentic single-coil sounds without the usual hum. These pickups, along with the Haymaker humbucker on the HSS Strat, connect to sophisticated electronics, including the S-1 volume pot push switch, offering a wealth of tonal possibilities.

While the American Ultra II lineup features innovative components, it also retains classic Fender elements such as alder bodies, maple necks, and American Ultra Synchronized tremolos. This combination strikes a balance between traditional Fender feel and modern playability, appealing to today’s discerning musicians.
