Meet Jon, Sims Music's New Guitar Tech

Jon Warf is 26 years old and was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. He has been playing guitar since he was 9 years old and has been working on guitars professionally for the past 6 years. He apprenticed and graduated from Custom Vibrations School of Lutherie. So for the past 16 years of his life, Jon has dedicated himself and invested himself in the culture of guitar.

Jon loves working on electric guitars and electric basses. While some tech's shy away from it, Jon loves a challenge. He loves fiddling with and fixing/replacing wiring and other internal components to get the overall best playing and sounding guitar. Jon had this to say about being a guitar tech:

"I strive for efficiency and consistency. I want to continue Sims Music's environment of quick and friendly service. I want people to know: before I'm a tech, I'm a musician. I don't rest until your instrument is playing how I would want it to play or sound like I would want it to sound. No challenge is too big or small. I promise to put my entire effort and expertise into every single guitar."

During the Summer months, humidity is on the rise. This sometimes can cause aging of strings and wear on your instrument to be increased. Now is the time to come in and have our new tech make sure your instrument is playing very well. Some of the things that are worth checking:

  • Neck Adjustment (free if instrument was purchased from us)
  • Restring & Setup
  • Clean and Conditioned fretboards and fret polishing

Sometimes it's the little things that can be the difference between a decent playing guitar and GREAT one. Come in now and see what we can do for your instrument.
